How it works

Three steps, and nobody needs to create an account.

  1. Add the people

Type the names of everyone sharing the money. Add or remove people any time.

  2. Choose how to split

Equally, by percentage, by salary, hours or nights, or by what each person ordered.

  3. Share the result

Copy the breakdown into your group chat. Every amount is rounded to the cent and adds up exactly.

Quick split: any amount, any way

Enter an amount and the people sharing it. Switch between equal parts, percentages, salary or hours, or mix an equal part with a salary part.

Which split is fair?

There’s no single right answer. It depends on what people put in and what they got out.

Equal parts

Best when everyone contributed the same or shared the same thing, like a group gift or a table’s shared wine. The equal split calculator handles the leftover cents so the total always matches.

By what each person used

When people ordered different dishes, stayed different nights or have rooms of different sizes, splitting by use feels fairer. Try the restaurant bill splitter, costs by nights stayed or rent by room size.

By contribution

For money earned together, a split by salary, hours or investment reflects what each person put in. See the bonus split by salary, tips by hours worked or a half equal, half salary mix.

Rounded to the cent, and private

Amounts are rounded to the smallest unit of the currency. When rounding leaves a cent or two over, it goes to the people whose exact share was closest to the next cent, so the parts always add up to exactly the amount you entered. The calculators run in your browser: the names and numbers you enter are not sent to this website or stored.
